Do Not Learn the Ways of The Heathen

Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, ...For the customs of the people are vain: Jeremiah 10:2-3

Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: and the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. Leviticus 18:24-25

Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Deuteronomy 12:30

Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, wither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out. And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them. ...I am the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people. Leviticus 20:22-24

Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? ...But he (Jesus) answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? Matthew 15:2, 3

Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. ...This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Matthew 15:6, 8, 9

Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. Mark 7:9

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Colossians 2:8

Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. Galatians 4:9-11

We ought to obey God rather than man. Acts 5:29

Halloween

Part of a religious observation of Allhalowtide, which includes All Hallows Eve, All Hallows Day (known as the Feast of All Saints in the Catholic Church), and All Souls Day, Halloween (a contraction of All Hallows Evening) was the assigned vigil for All Souls Day originally celebrated May first but eventually moved to November 1, making it coincide with the Celtic pagan festivals of Samhain in Ireland and Calan Gaeaf in Wales.

Prayer

Prayer beads/rosary. Praying to the dead/intercession of the dead/Mary as co-mediator. Prayer in public schools.

Should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? Isaiah 8:19

The dead know not anything, ...His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. Ecclesiastes 9:5, Psalm 146:4

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray unto thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. Matthew 6:5-8

Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. John 16:23

Easter

Tammuz was the consort of Inanna/Ishtar, known as the Queen of Heaven. Death of Tammuz mourned, especially by women, meanwhile cakes were prepared for Ishatar by these same women. Tammuz associated with shepherds as well as agriculture.

Ēostre or *Ēastre In Anglo-Saxon England, her springtime festival gave its name to a month (Ēosturmōnaþ, West Saxon Eastermonað),[7] the equivalent of April, then to the Christian feast of Easter that eventually displaced it.

Many Puritans saw traditional feasts of the established Anglican Church, such as All Saints' Day and Easter, as an abomination.[107] The Puritan rejection of Easter traditions was (and is) based partly upon their interpretation of 2 Corinthians 6:14–16 and partly upon a more general belief that, if a religious practice or celebration is not actually written in the Christian Bible, then that practice/celebration must be a later development and cannot be considered an authentic part of Christian practice or belief—so at best simply unnecessary, at worst actually sinful.

Christmas

The Biblical description of Christ's birth indicate that it was likely not in winter. Shepherds would not be tending their flocks in the fields in winter, and the census being conducted would have been during warmer weather when travel would be easier for all citizens to return to the towns of their birth to be counted.

Church tradition holds that Pope Julius I selected December 25 as the date for the birth of Jesus speculating that Julius was looking to create a Christian alternative to Saturnalia which occurred during the fourth week of December. Saturnalia was a popular pagan festival that celebrated the Roman god Saturn. Saturn was the god of the harvest and Saturnalia was celebrated with feasting and the exchanging of gifts. Both public spaces and homes were decorated with evergreens and holly and candles were lit the mark the days of the festival as it transpired.

December 21 to January 1 also marks the Germanic pagan festival of Yule. where various peoples and tribes in northern Europe celebrated the winter solstice and the return of the sun and the lengthening of daylight. Pre-Christian Yule customs include the Yule log, Yule goat, Yule boar (today's Christmas ham), Yule singing (wassailing), and sun wheels (made by decorating interwining branches of evergreens resembling modern wreaths).  Decorating trees and mistletoe are other customs with pagan roots.

Besides being the traditional birth date of several pagan deities, December 25 was declared by third century Roman Emperor, Aurelian, as the birth date of Sol Invictus, (Latin for "Unconquered Sun"), long considered the official sun god of the latter Roman Empire.

Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, ill of God. Romans 12:2

Jesus in the Old Testament: Messianic Prophecies

"Let us try to visualize this chance. If you mark one of ten tickets, and place all of the tickets in a hat, and thoroughly stir them, and then ask a blindfolded man to draw one, his chance of getting the right ticket is one in ten. Suppose that we take 1017 silver dollars and lay them on the face of Texas. They will cover all of the state two feet deep. Now mark one of these silver dollars and stir the whole mass thoroughly, all over the state.

"Blindfold a man and tell him that he can travel as far as he wishes, but he must pick up one silver dollar and say that this is the right one. What chance would he have of getting the right one? Just the same chance that the prophets would have had of writing these eight prophecies and having them all come true in any one man, from their day to the present time, providing they wrote using their own wisdom."

The Mark of the Beast Part 3: Fire From Heaven

In part two we identified America as the second, lamb like beast, of Revelation 13. Despite being founded on the principles of Republicanism and Protestantism, the Bible predicted America would more closely resemble the philosophy and ideology of the Papacy and the Dragon (Satan) from whom Rome got her power.

We will now continue our study of Revelation by examining how the Bible tells us Rome will regain world-wide supremacy with the help of America and use that power to force the world to worship and serve her.

The Mark of the Beast Part 2: The Lamb Like Beast of Revelation 13

In the first part of this series on the mark of the beast we identified the first beast of Revelation 13, the beast that rises up from out of the sea, as the Papacy. The Papacy is the only power that fits all the characteristics described in Revelation 13 perfectly. The Papacy is also the same power that is described in Daniel 7. Let us now examine and identify the second beast of Revelation 13.

What Does the Bible Say About Christ's Return?

There have been a lot of theories on when and how Jesus will return and the events surrounding His return. One of the most popular view in mainstream Christianity is the pretribulation dispensationalist view where the Church is secretly raptured away followed by a seven year period of tribulation on the earth. During this tribulation the Antichrist comes unto the scene promising peace in uniting the world but breaks this covenant, showing his true colours, half way through the seven year tribulation and brings about the mark of the beast. At the end of the seven year tribulation Jesus returns to set up an earthly kingdom where He reigns with the saints for 1000 years. This scenario makes for a great action packed story, (and has been made into a number of popular novels and movies), but what does the Bible have to say on the subject of Christ's return?

The Mark of the Beast Part 1: The Sea Beast of Revelation 13

And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. ...And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13:1-5, 7, 8)

Church and State Part 3: The Battle is the Lord's

There has been much contention throughout the world over disagreements on how to address the various calamities that are coming on the earth, who has what authority in addressing these issues, and what to do when we do not agree with how those with authority over us exercise that authority.

As with all things in the Christian's life, let's look and see what the Word of God has to say on these things.

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. ...Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. (Romans 13:1-3, 7)

Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's. (Matthew 22:21)

Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; or unto govenors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. (1 Peter 2:13-14)

Jesus answered (to Pilate), Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin. (John 19:11)

What is Heaven Really Like?

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. ...But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Corinthians 2:9, 10, 14)

We've already seen in a previous post that hell is not a place where the Devil will get to torment unrepentant sinners and unbelievers for all eternity, but the misconceptions of the "afterlife" don't end there. For centuries the most common depiction of heaven is a place full of fluffy white clouds where the saint's of God will spend eternity floating around in white robes strumming harps, but what does the Bible say?

God's Health Plan: Part 1

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in good health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3 John 1:2)

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. (Psalms 139:14)

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)

God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; ...that thy way may be known upon the earth, thy saving health among all nations. (Psalms 67:1,2)

As our Creator, God knows what is best for us, our mind, body and spirit. A person's mental, physical and spiritual health are interrelated and interdependent. True Bible religion includes practical health principles found in God's word.

Christians and Trade Unions

Should Christians be part of trade unions? Is it not our employer who pays our wages? How should we deal with wicked employers? Is striking a form of rebellion? What does the Bible have to say about an employee's obligations to their employer?

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:24

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:36

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we Eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Matthew 6:25-34

Female Authority in the Church: Part 1

But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over a man, but to be in silence. [1 Timothy 2:12]

As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. [2 Peter 3:16]

Once again, as we tackle yet another controversial Bible topic, let's have the Bible itself remind us of how exactly we are to study God's word with the purposes of knowing the truth.

Who or What is the Holy Spirit? Part 1

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:5

Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:17, 18

Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? ...What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 1 Corinthians 6:15, 19

Jesus, the literal son of God? Part 1

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist; some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the son of the living god. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 16:13-17

Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 1 John 5:5

For there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12

It is pivotal to our salvation that we not only believe in the name of Jesus but that we believe he is the Son of God. But is Jesus the literal Son of God or are Jesus and the Father just roleplaying?

Signs of the Last Days: Part 2

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Isaiah 46:9-10

I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass. Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and they neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass; I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them. Isaiah 48:3-5

In part one, we began to look at the condition of the world and its inhabitants signifying that we are indeed in the last days. Let's now look specifically at the condition of Christianity in the last days. What does the Bible say will be the condition of those claiming to be off the faith.

Signs of the Last Days: Part 1

Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them. Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any. Isaiah 44:6-8

And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. John 14:29

Only God can declare the future. One of the purposes of prophecy is to encourage faith. As Bible prophecy is consistently fulfilled we know we can trust the Word of God and its author with our lives and the future. What does the Bible say about the end times? What are the signs that we will know we are in the last days?

Television and the Christian

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." 1 John 2:15

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting." Galatians 6:7-8

"Be no deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners." 1 Corinthians 15:33

Television is one of the world's most important telecommunication mediums. Programs are broadcast via various channels. The language surrounding this powerful and influential medium and its related industries is very telling. Let's take a look at some of that language. What patterns do we see?

Was Peter the First Pope?

When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesara Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, but whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou are the Christ, the Son of the living god. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Matthew 16:13-19

Is Peter really the rock on which the church is built? Are we not called Christians after Christ?

And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone. John 1:42

Two Sabbaths: Part 1

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8-11

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. Genesis 2:1-3

Church and State Part 2: A Nation of Hypocrites

My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. John 18:36

The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17:20-21

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Luke 6:46

Many countries identify as "Christian" claiming Christian values to be at their foundation. But are "Christian values" always Biblical?

Flat earth or globe? What does the Bible say?

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trusts, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called. 1 Timothy 6:20

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Colossians 2:8

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of the world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? ...For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. 1 Corinthians 1:20; 3:19

...yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; ...Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Romans 3:4; 1:25

What is a Jew, and who is Israel?

How does the Bible define a Jew?

For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, in Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, they which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. Romans 9:6-8

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:26-29 (See Genesis 12:1-3 and Genesis 22:15-18 for that promise.)

Who are the sons of God of Genesis 6?

In Genesis 6, the mysterious account of the “sons of God” marrying the “daughters of men” has puzzled many readers. By comparing Scripture with Scripture, we discover a clear, Bible-based explanation of who these groups were and why their union led to widespread corruption. This study reveals vital lessons about faith, obedience, and the danger of spiritual compromise.

The Truth About Hell: What the Bible Really Says About the Fate of the Lost

Few subjects stir more emotion or confusion than the question of hell. Many people picture lost souls burning forever, but does the Bible actually teach that? When we look closely, Scripture reveals a just and merciful God who punishes sin but does not torment endlessly. The Bible’s message about death, judgment, and the final destruction of sin brings both clarity and hope.

Let’s explore what God’s Word truly says about when and how the lost are judged, what hellfire is, how long it lasts, and what happens when it’s all over.

Our God is a Consuming Fire

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20

Satan has made evil good, and good evil. He deceives the world, telling them that the wicked will dwell for eternity in a consuming fire, but is that what the Bible actually teaches?

The Bible describes God as a consuming fire.

For our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:29

I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like a fiery flame, and his wheels as a burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: Daniel 7:9, 10

Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, is similarly described.

Church and State Part 1: "My kingdom is not of this world"

My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. John 18:36

Satan is the ruler of all worldly powers.

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience. Ephesians 2:2

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, 2 Corinthians 2:3-4

We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12

Test the Spirits

And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. Revelation 16:13-15

God's Word admonishes us to prove every teacher, doctrine, prophet, miracle, vision or dream in order to make sure that we are not deceived and that they are, indeed, of God.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matthew 24:24

What happens when we die? Part 1 "Soul sleep"

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7

What does the Word of God say happens when we die?

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. Genesis 3:19

Thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust. Psalms 104:29

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. Ecclesiastes 12:7

Bible Basics: Part 1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:1, 14

The Word of God the foundation of the Christian's faith.

Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Psalms 89:34

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:1, 14

The secret things belong unot the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law. Deuteronomy 29:29
